HostGPO member, Renee, owner and operator of the River Barn located in the historic village of Essex, Connecticut, recently did our member spotlight interview! She sent in some pictures of her stunning STR where guests can escape and relax with proximity to wonderful restaurants, cultural institutions, outdoor activities and shopping. Using HostGPO's William Sonoma Home, and Pottery Barn discounts she purchased multiple stunning rugs that compliment the living room, kitchen and entryway perfectly. We trust our interview with her will interest our readers and hopefully give our members some good decorating ideas for their own vacation rentals!
When asked what she finds most rewarding about her career, she says the best part is, "the anticipation of the guests' experience." Having only been in the short term / vacation rental industry for one year, Renee never disappoints and brings her A-game daily.
"Starting as a pandemic project, it has been such a wonderful creative outlet in between raising two little children."
She created the River Barn with the intention of it being a home away from home. A vacation is all about relaxation. Sit by the fire while reading a book or cook a meal in the fully stocked kitchen; all is possible during your stay. She also provides an eclectic collection of vinyl records, classic games and an acoustic guitar.
When asked what pro-tip she would pass onto the community, she states that learning Instagram and creative marketing is a must. It generates more revenue by broadcasting your listing to the right market. Check out the River Barn's Instagram to see clean, effective marketing (and stunning images of the surrounding historic town, activities and eats her STR sits in!).
With many restaurant options, unforgettable hiking trails, and beaches nearby, it is impossible to not kick back, and relax. No matter the season, stay a while at the River Barn, CT. Check out her listing to experience Essex, Connecticut like you never have before!
