In this member spotlight interview, we have the pleasure of introducing Laura Russell, a newcomer to the short-term rental industry. Having just started, Laura brings fresh enthusiasm and a beautiful property to the rental market. As a passionate host, Laura finds immense reward in creating a space for others to experience and cherish. While she’s yet to host her first guests, we can all relate to her journey.

How many years have you been in the short-term rental industry and how did you get started?

Currently zero! I just started this week! 🙂

What do you find most rewarding about your career?

I am very excited to bring a beautiful property as a rental for others to be enjoyed.

What is your favorite rental property and why do you love it?

My only one is the Black Pine Lodge! We are nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks and are a multi-season rental. We offer lots of amenities and are a comfortable place to relax and be with loved ones after getting outside and exploring.

What’s the craziest story you have from hosting?

No guests yet (we’re so new!), but finishing the build, set-up, and staging from afar has been quite the roller coaster!

What’s one “pro-tip” you’d be willing to pass on to the community?

Use HostGPO – honestly so appreciate this platform and the ability to save $1,000s and have less stress knowing the products you suggest are all quality. I tested tons of different sheets and finally said let me try the ‘Bed Box’. Wish I just started there, these linens are perfect!
