Mariya Dekhman is a vacation rental interior design consultant and owner of Design Deliver Dwell. What do you find most rewarding about your career?
I love seeing happy people, whether its my own guests or my design clients, nothing brings me more joy than to see the look on peoples faces when they walk into a space that they love. My mission is to create a comfortable and exciting place for guests to call their “home away from home” 100 percent of the time.
What is your favorite rental property you have and why do you love it?
My favorite property is my house upstate, there’s an unexplainable magic that surrounds you when you are there. The peace you feel in the middle of the woods with the sound of the creek in the backyard under the beautiful night sky is unlike anything I have ever felt. Whether you’re sitting by the fire outside or lounging on the couch by the fireplace, it’s an undeniable feeling of truly unplugging from the world.
What’s the craziest story you have from hosting?
A guest brought an exotic bird with them and demanded I create an eco-system that resembles the amazon in one of my bedrooms for the bird to have a comfortable stay.
What’s one “pro-tip” you’d be willing to pass on to the community?
Always add a record player and records to your home, its a hit with all guests 100 percent of the time.
What’s the most recent item that you can remember that you’ve ordered from HostGPO?
So many items! From West Elm I have purchased the Book Nook Armchair, Mid-Century Round Coffee Table, Mid-Century Nightstand, Mid-Century Mini Desk, and the
Curved Terrace Nightstand. From RugsUSA, I purchased Rust Davina Washable Area Rug. I also purchased this hilarious and cute Cast-Iron Bacon Press from Williams-Sonoma!
