How many years have you been in the short term rental industry and how did you get started?
Many years – but more recently, we had been looking for a while to find special properties in the high desert, Joshua Tree area. We come from a wellness background and look for spaces where people can gather and the land is very important.
What do you find most rewarding about your career?
To see the transformation of a property, where we create a space where guests love spending time, both indoors and outdoors – where we can provide a home base which is unique and comfortable. The “experience” is so important.
What is your favorite rental property you have and why do you love it?
Currently The Mountain Vortex, the energy of the property is amazing! We put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears in renovating this property, there were so many hurdles we had to overcome but now, when we hear how guests love the space we have created, it is all worth it.
What’s the craziest story you have from hosting?
Well honestly, we have been very lucky! Overall our guests have been respectful. One did happen to take down one of the hammocks and the very large pole and ate a lot of pasta and spilled it throughout the house, but nothing that we could not handle 🙂
What’s one “pro-tip” you’d be willing to pass on to the community?
If you put love into your space, you get it back! Value your work and others will too.
